Pa'auilo Mauka Kalopa Community Association October 2006 Newsletter
Clean-Up Day Saturday October 21
October is the month when "Make a Difference Day" occurs each year. This year our community is volunteering to clean up our roads on Saturday, October 21st from 8:00--10:00 a.m. Jamie Reno, who is the chair of our Roads, Traffic & Safety Committee will be calling on road representatives to organize their neighbors in this event. Please see the list of road representatives listed below.
Participants are asked to bring trash bags and pick up rubbish along side the roads assigned to them.
After the clean-up, community members are invited to meet at the Vanilla Company on Pa`auilo Mauka Road to meet with neighbors, relax, and purchase sandwiches if they like.
There are three options for disposing of the trash:
- Throw it away at the transfer station yourself.
- Bring trash to Vanilla Company for pick up and disposal.
- Leave the bags along side of the road (to the side) for pick up.
Please do your part to help our special community keep clean and show pride in this wonderful place!
If you have any questions, please call Jamie Reno at 776-9826.

DSL in Pa'auilo Mauka Area
According to Daniel Masutomi, the director of Network Engineering & Planning, from Hawaiian Telcom, they are on track for offering DSL high speed internet to folks in Pa`auilo Mauka who currently don‚t have this service. The service should be available by the end of the year or early 2007 at the latest.
According to Jami Sales-Reno, community member, Dan has been instrumental in getting this service to our area. Thank you Jami, for pursuing this service and thank you Dan for working on this for our community!
Aloha
